Paul Whelan – Participation Officer in The Heath (An Fraoch) GAA and O’Dempsey’s GFC

I joined Laois GAA in August 2023 and began my work in The Heath National School, the Heath GAA, Scoil Naomh Eoin, Killenard and O’Dempsey’s GAA. I graduated from SETU Waterford in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Health Studies. I then undertook my postgraduate studies in SETU Carlow, graduating with a Masters of Science in Strength and Conditioning in 2019.

I have extensive experience coaching in different sports. Before joining Laois GAA I was a part of a multidisciplinary team in Kildare GAA in an athletic development role working with the hurling and football Academy Squads. I was a part of the strength and conditioning team with the Kildare Minor team in the 22/23 season.

I play Senior Football with Athy GFC.
