Cody Comerford was strong in defence, scooping up loose balls and winning key aerial battles. His long clearances relieved pressure and set up attacks, including a delivery that led to a Jack Kelly score. He read the game well and provided a solid platform from the back.

David Dooley impressed in midfield with his high work rate and ability to win possession. He claimed puckouts and frees, gathered plenty of ball, and drove attacks forward. His turnovers and quick passes created several scoring chances for Laois. Alongside scoring a total of 0-2 from play himself.
