Jack Kelly (0-5) impressed with sharp scores and clever play, also setting up Mark Kavanagh’s goal. Kavanagh finished with 1-8 (7 frees, one 65), including key points against the wind in the 1st half. Padraig Rafter (0-1) was solid at the back with crucial tackles. Damien Madden made a vital save to deny Dan Bergin.
Ballinakill
Brian Duggan (0-9, 8 frees) stood out in midfield with strong fielding and long-range scores. Cha Dwyer (0-2) was accurate from play, hard working and dominated puckouts. Ben O’Mara hit a fine goal (1-1), while Dan Bergin provided lots of pace and energy up front, having a great effort on goal saved by Damien Madden.
Portlaoise v The Harps

Cathal Duggan worked hard and directly set up Eddie Critchley’s goal. Critchley (1-1) used his pace effectively and won a penalty converted by Brochan O’Reilly. Eoin O’Connor was solid in defence with strong interceptions and pointed 5 great points from play. Sean Culliton (0-5, 4 frees) was a key attacking force, especially in the second half.
The Harps
Ross Deegan (0-1) showed great pace and quick reactions up front. Podge Delaney (0-2) impressed with ball carrying, turnovers, and 2 excellent points. Hugh Whelan (0-3) starred in both defence and attack as in the 2nd half in particular he was all over the pitch. While Rory Dunne stood out in the back line with strong tackling. Cody Comerford scored 1-0.
Castletown vs Abbeyleix

Jack Breen starred with 0-6 from play and helped set up Callum Peters goal. He also drove forward to assist a great goal chance for Sean Óg Byrne (0-4, 3 frees, one 65), whose shot was saved by Enda Rowland. Ciaran McKelvey (0-1) worked well in midfield, linking play to attack.
Abbeyleix
Cormac Byrne (0-8, 5 frees, one 65) impressed with accurate long-range frees, especially against the wind. Eamon Fitzpatrick stood out physically in defence. Eli Quinn had a strong second half with 0-2 and powerful runs, while Colin Byrne chipped in with 1-1.
Rosenallis vs Camross

Oran Gorman (with timely, effective tackles) and Shane Farrell (through disposessing opponents) were both rock solid in defence throughout. John Lennon used his pace on the ball to constantly go on the attack and he finished with 0-4 from play. David Dooley dictated play in midfield and was reliable on frees, scoring 0-6 (5 frees).
Camross
Zane Keenan led the way with a superb 1-12 (1-4 from play, 8 frees), showcasing both his scoring power and experience. Cathal Cuddy stood out in defence with some brilliant tackles, interceptions, and turnovers. Despite defeat, Cathal Cuddy’s defensive efforts were commendable.

Mark Hennessy impressed with tireless work rate up front, scoring two fine points from play. Cillian Dunne (0-4) was dominant in the air, repeatedly winning possession to pop the ball over the bar, and he had a good goal effort denied by a sharp Eoin Fleming save. Setting up his teammates throughout was Aidan Corby (0-3) as he controlled midfield and was central to his side’s attacking play.
Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton
Neil Foyle brought great energy in attack, landing four excellent points from play. Aaron Dunphy was clinical with 0-12 (10 frees), maintaining his strong free-taking form. While Stephen Phelan had a major second half impact when he was introduced at half time, chasing down possession and winning vital ball: crucial to his side pulling back the deficit in the 2nd half despite defeat.
