Teams through to the quarter finals: Arles Killeen, Portlaoise, Ballyroan-Abbey and Graiguecullen.

Teams in Senior B: Clonaslee St.Manman’s, Stradbally, Ballyfin and Crettyard.

Round 3: Rosenallis v Portarlington, O’Dempsey’s v Courtwood, Emo v St.Joseph’s, The Heath v Killeshin.

Round 2 Recap

Clonaslee St.Manman’s v The Heath

Clonaslee St.Manman’s: 2-11

The Heath: 0-19

Clonaslee St. Manman’s: Cian Conroy shone in midfield, winning ball and dictating play. James McRedmond (1-0) made smart runs, delivered key passes, and scored a fine goal. Niall Corbet (1-7: 0-4f, one 2-pointer, one 45) was clinical, taking his scores brilliantly, scoring 1-2 from play in the 2nd half alone.

The Heath: Neil Keane (0-1) showed blistering pace, was direct on the ball, worked hard throughout, driving attacks from deep. Sean Kirby (0-4: 1f) impressed with accuracy and fearless runs. JP Nerney landed two vital 2-pointer frees in the second half. Kirby and Nerney combined to seal victory.

Stradbally v Emo

Stradbally: 1-18

Emo: 3-16

Stradbally: Tom Shiel (0-3, 0-1f) dominated midfield with strength, kickout wins, and pinpoint passing. Half time sub Conor Buggie brought huge energy, turnovers, and set up a goal, while Conor Goode impressed as a key two way playmaker (link in midfield from defence to attack).

Emo: Jamie O’Connor excelled in defence and transitions to attack, Paddy Hosey (1-4) was relentless up front, both creating and finishing chances, including a sharp first half goal and well taken points from play. Padraig Kirwan’s (0-3) long pacey runs contributed to many vital scores.

O’Dempsey’s v Crettyard

O’Dempsey’s: 3-17

Crettyard: 1-15

O’Dempsey’s: Mark Barry (2-7, 0-4f) starred with two superb goals and deadly accuracy from both frees and play. Matthew Finlay (1-6, 0-1 45, 1 two-pt f) added a fine goal and a brilliant two-pointer free, while Fionn Holland (0-1) impressed in midfield.

Crettyard: Cormac Murphy (1-10, 0-9f, 3 two-pt f) was outstanding, hitting a classy goal and long range frees, 3 two pointer frees to showcase his long range kicking ability. Brian Brennan (0-2f) also kicked 2 good scores.

Rosenallis v Ballyfin

Rosenallis: 6-17

Ballyfin: 0-13

Rosenallis: racked up a massive score courtesy Brian Fitzpatrick’s powerful 3-3 from play and Alex Marron’s 2-1 from play, while Jack Friel expertly orchestrated attacks at corner forward. Joey Shelley was excellently solid in defense throughout whilst also contributing to attack when he ran up the field with pace, scoring 1-0

Ballyfin: Sean Moore excelled with reliable accuracy from dead balls with a total 0-5 frees, Adam Connolly nailed a remarkable 2-pointer. James Finn produced a strong display in midfield, scoring 0-1 and battling hard for possession.

Killeshin v Arles-Killeen

Killeshin: 1-11

Arles-Killeen: 1-12

Killeshin: Eoin Cawley impressed in defence: after winning possession, he carried the ball very quickly up the field before linking well in score setups. Mick Doran (0-2) scored stylish points and dominated in the air. Adam Deering (0-3) brought pace, set up scores, won a penalty, and struck fine points. Conor Heffernan brought physical strength to win the ball in midfield.

Arles Killeen: Donie Kingston (0-1) excelled in midfield (1st half) and full forward (2nd half) winning high ball, delivering accurate passes, and scoring. Eanna Byrne (0-2) created key chances, directly set up Oisin Byrne’s goal, and hit vital scores included the equalising point. Before Adam Donohue kicked the winning point. Oisin Byrne starred in attack with 1-2, including a free.

Portlaoise v St.Joseph’s

Portlaoise: 0-13

St.Joseph’s: 0-12

Portlaoise: Colin McEvoy was excellent in defence with great work rate on display throughout: strong tackles, turnovers, and a fine point, while Josh Hogan (0-3, 0-1f) was a very effective ball carrier alongside scoring and Darren Brennan landed a superb two-pointer free.

St. Joseph’s: Mikie Dempsey dominated midfield and contributed to both defence and attack too. Mick Keogh struck a spectacular long-range two-pointer and added superb pace in attack to set up scores, while Brian Daly (0-4, 0-2f) nailed an excellent long-range two-pointer free.

Ballyroan-Abbey v Courtwood

Ballyroan Abbey: 2-16

Courtwood: 2-14

Ballyroan-Abbey: Martin Scully made powerful runs and won key frees, while James McWey scored a massive 0-12, (including three outstanding two-pointers) the standout scoring performance in Round 2 of the SFC overall. Shaun Murphy (0-1) was strong in midfield, winning high balls and linking play effectively.

Courtwood: Alan Kinsella delivered precise kick passes and accuracy scoring 0-5 (0-4 frees). Daniel Boland shone in defense with crucial blocks and interceptions. Mick Doyle (0-4) was outstanding in attack, scoring a superb two-pointer and free in a row in quick succession, showing great work rate throughout.

Graiguecullen v Portarlington

Graiguecullen: 1-12

Portarlington: 1-10

Graiguecullen: Jack Byrne (0-2) impressed with bursts of pace through the Portarlington defence, scored two fine points and narrowly missed a goal too. Mark Timmons dominated midfield, creating a lot of chances resulting in scores for his teammates and scoring a great point from play himself. Lee Walker was outstanding, scoring 1-6 (1-0, 0-3f) from all angles with accuracy and fearless runs.

Portarlington: Paddy O’Sullivan excelled in defense with superb tackles and turnovers at the back and was equally as impressive in attack: after running back up the field to the forward line then scoring 1-4 from play; including a goal set up by a brilliant, quick one-two with Darragh Galvin, who also scored a lovely point. Keith Bracken (0-1) was solid in midfield, winning plenty of ball.
