Arles Killeen: 1-7
Arles Killeen: Adam Donohue excelled in the half-back line, using pace and accurate passing to launch attacks, carrying ball forward strongly and winning frees. Paul Kingston tackled fiercely, regained possession, dominated under the high ball, and struck a superb sideline free. Jason Enright impressed in goal, producing brilliant one-on-one saves.
Portarlington: Jake Foster (1-6: 0-2f) returned in style, scoring frees he won himself and showing pace with dangerous forward runs. Colm Murphy (0-7: 0-3f) created goal chances through sharp movement, holding and retaining possession too. Sean Byrne delivered superb long balls, including outside-boot passes, consistently linking with Foster to set up key scores.
Courtwood v Portlaoise
Courtwood: 4-11
Portlaoise: 0-14
Courtwood: Sean O’Flynn dominated midfield, winning possession, driving into space, and linking play with quick hand passes, while tackling strongly too. Alan Kinsella (1-3: 0-1f) impressed with energy, scoring a fine goal and frees. Cian Doyle (2-1) orchestrated attacks, involved in nearly every scoring opportunity through clever runs with bursts of pace and link up play. Jake Doyle stood firm in defence, forcing turnovers.
Portlaoise: Darren Brennan (0-3: 0-2f) contributed well, moving possession forward, linking play, and scoring from frees and play. Ben Dempsey (0-2) excelled defensively with turnovers and transitions, carrying into attack and adding points. He also supported attacking moves effectively. Goalkeeper Conor Brown stood out with a string of excellent saves.
Killeshin v Graiguecullen
Killeshin: 0-16
Graiguecullen: 3-11
Killeshin: Eoin Brennan excelled in defence with tight marking, blocking, and intercepting to deny opponents space. Dave Aston (0-2f) impressed with a superb sideline free from an acute angle, added another equally outstanding score, and directly set up Eoin Lowry for a point from play. Dave Aston was very quick at moving the ball along too. Evan English contributed well in attack, got on alot of high ball and added two fine points from play.
Graiguecullen: Jack Byrne (0-1) linked play cleverly in the half-forward line, creating opportunities and scoring himself, while also intercepting for turnovers. Trevor Collins stood out in defence, using strong tackling to win back possession. Brian Byrne (0-1) shone in the second half, constantly driving forward with dangerous runs that stretched Killeshin’s defence and his fast paced contribution was vital for the win in the end.
St.Joseph’s v Ballyroan Abbey
St.Joseph’s: 2-16
Ballyroan Abbey: 2-14
St. Joseph’s: Danny Hickey worked tirelessly at centre back, solid in defence and breaking forward with purpose. Eoin Johnson impressed in both midfield and attack, battling hard to win possession in both parts of the field and capping his display with a superb point from play. Eoghan O’Flaherty shone up front, full of energy and accuracy, scoring an excellent 1-2 from play.
Ballyroan Abbey: Conaire Gee defensive effort was huge in the half-back line, reading loose ball smartly, winning high possession, and linking into attack. James McWey (0-7: 0-2f, two 2-pointers) delivered a top-class display with two superb long-range points and accurate kick passes to his teammates. Marty Scully drove forward with powerful runs, breaking lines and setting up key opportunities.
