Laois Hire O’Moore Park

Laois Hire O’Moore Park is the county grounds of Laois GAA, located in Portlaoise, County Laois. The stadium is the home venue for the Laois senior hurling and Gaelic football teams and hosts a wide range of intercounty and club fixtures throughout the season. Operated by Laois GAA, the ground is a central venue for championship games, league fixtures and major county finals.

Laois Hire O’Moore Park hosts a wide range of fixtures throughout the year, including intercounty championship and league matches, county finals across hurling and Gaelic football, and floodlit evening games. The stadium is also regularly used as a neutral venue for intercounty fixtures not involving Laois, due to its central location and facilities.

Facilities and infrastructure

Laois Hire O’Moore Park has a spectator capacity of approximately 22,000, with seating for around 6,500 patrons. The stadium includes two end terraces along with an uncovered terrace running the length of the pitch, providing extensive standing accommodation for major fixtures and championship occasions.

The ground is fully floodlit, allowing for evening games and year round use. The floodlighting system has been upgraded to modern LED lighting, improving visibility while significantly reducing energy consumption. As part of wider sustainability measures, Laois GAA has also implemented biodiversity initiatives across the stadium and adjoining lands, including the planting of native trees, wildflower areas and pollinator friendly spaces.
