Laois Feile Peil Rules and Regulations.
Laois football’s young stars take centre stage on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, as the county’s Féile Peil na nÓg finals programme brings together the best U15 club talent from across the county for a full day of competitive action.
This year’s Féile promises a packed schedule, with group matches beginning in the morning across multiple venues before the knockout stages conclude under lights at the LOETB Centre of Excellence, where both Division 1 and Division 2 county finals will be decided.

The Féile format remains one of the highlights of the underage football calendar, combining short, high-intensity group games with the excitement of same-day knockout football. Clubs from every corner of Laois will compete for county honours, with the ultimate aim of progressing to represent Laois on the provincial and national Féile stage.

Division 1, Sunday April 26th
Division 1 sees sixteen of the county’s strongest football clubs split into four groups of three, with only the group winners advancing to the semi-finals.
Group stages begin at 10:30am, with second-round games at 11:15am, followed by final group fixtures at 12:00 noon.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 5:15pm at the LOETB Centre of Excellence, where:
- Winner Group 1 plays Winner Group 2
- Winner Group 3 plays Winner Group 4
The Division 1 Final throws in at 7:15pm, and promises to be a fitting climax to a fiercely contested day.
Among the clubs expected to challenge strongly are Portarlington, Portlaoise, Mountmellick Parish Gaels, Park-Ratheniska, Stradbally Parish Gaels, Ballyfin, O’Dempsey’s and Ballylinan, though Féile football has a long tradition of surprises and breakthrough performances.
Division 2, Sunday April 26th
Division 2 also begins at 10:30am, with teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group progress to the semi-finals.
Semi-finals take place at 6:15pm at the LOETB Centre of Excellence, with:
- Winner Group A v Runner-up Group B
- Winner Group B v Runner-up Group A
The Division 2 Final is fixed for 7:30pm, 15 mins behind the A decider, ensuring a showcase evening for underage football in the county.
A Festival of Football
Féile Peil is about far more than silverware. It is one of the most important developmental days in the Laois juvenile calendar, giving young players the opportunity to represent their clubs in a countywide championship atmosphere.
Under Féile Peil regulations, all teams are encouraged to maximise participation, with the competition strongly promoting game-time for all panel members. The emphasis remains on skill, sportsmanship and development, alongside the natural desire to win.
Matches in group stages will be played over 15-minute halves, while semi-finals and finals increase to 20-minute halves, ensuring the knockout games carry added championship weight.
Respect and Sportsmanship
Laois Coiste na nÓg has again placed major emphasis on the “Give Respect, Get Respect” initiative for 2026. Players, mentors, officials and supporters are reminded that Féile should reflect the best values of Gaelic games, positive competition, encouragement, and respect for referees and opponents.
Sunday Night Champions
By the end of Sunday evening, two county champions will be crowned adn will go foraward to the National Finals which take place in Derry this Year on Saturday June 27th, but every participating club will leave having played a part in one of the finest days in the Laois underage football year.
With county pride, club rivalry and future stars all on display, April 26th promises another memorable chapter in Laois Féile Peil na nÓg history.
Supporters are encouraged to attend early, follow their local clubs throughout the day, and create a big occasion atmosphere as the county’s next generation of footballers chase Féile glory.
