Five Games, One Massive Weekend
Round 4 begins under the lights at Laois Hire O’Moore Park on Friday evening when The Harps face Rosenallis at 7.30pm.
Both teams enter the weekend with four championship points. The Harps have scored 88 points across their opening three games, while Rosenallis have recorded two victories from three. It is a fascinating contest between two teams firmly involved at the business end of their respective tables.
Saturday’s opening game brings together two clubs searching for their first championship victory. Ballinakill face Ballyfin at 5.30pm, with both sides currently without a point after three rounds.
Something must give in a game carrying enormous importance for each team.
That is followed by one of the standout fixtures of the weekend as Borris in Ossory Kilcotton meet Camross at 7.00pm.
Borris in Ossory Kilcotton remain unbeaten, collecting five points from their opening three games, while Camross lead their table after securing two victories from three. With two of the championship’s strongest performers going head-to-head, this promises to be a major examination of both teams’ ambitions.
Sunday Double-Header
Portlaoise and Rathdowney Errill begin Sunday’s action at 2.00pm.
Portlaoise have collected three points from their opening three matches, while Rathdowney Errill enter the weekend with two. With the standings becoming increasingly tight, the result could have a major influence on the position of both teams.
The Round 4 programme concludes when Abbeyleix St Lazarian’s take on the competition’s only remaining 100 per cent team, Clough/Ballacolla, at 3.30pm.
Clough/Ballacolla have made the perfect start, winning all three of their games and collecting six points. Abbeyleix St Lazarian’s will be determined to secure a significant result against the championship leaders.
