Eoghan Cuddy was impressive in the half-back line, winning possession through strong tackling and mopping up loose ball under pressure. Joe Phelan excelled in the full-back line with excellent man marking and defensive pressure while Ciaran Collier’s bursts of pace also carved open chances, including a great goal effort that forced a big save.
Borris in Ossory-Killcotton: Noah Quinlan stood out defensively, making vital interceptions before linking play quickly with sharp hand passes to launch attacks and relieve pressure. Colm Stapleton used his strength and pace in midfield to carry ball with purpose, showing leadership and determination, and also chipped in with a fine score from play. Dean Carey delivered an outstanding second half when he was introduced, combining relentless work rate to win possession with clever passing to set up teammates and also striking 0-3 himself. His impact was crucial in BK’s attacking momentum till the very end.

Ballinakill: Cha Dwyer dictated play from midfield: delivering long, accurate passes into the forwards and scored loads from distance, tallying a total 0-12 (0-4f, 0-1 sideline, 0-1 65). Ethan Drury was outstanding in attack, chipping in with 0-5 from play but most impressively, his ability to read play and positioning: to win possession under high ball combined with scoring from multiple angles. Seamus Fitzpatrick’s explosive pace and physicality at half forward: helped fend off challenges as he successfully created space while in possession, with his passes creating many scoring chances for teammates and won vital frees. While at the back, Ian Shanahan strongly anchored the defence with key tackles and interceptions.
Rosenallis: Charlie Friel and David Dooley impressed as their most potent attacking threat, Charlie Friel scored a lovely 0-3 from range operating from midfield, David Dooley scored a total 0-8 (seven frees) with accuracy from all angles and distance, while his pace down the wings caused constant danger particularly in the 2nd half when Rosenallis cut back the deficit and consistently attacked. Colin Bennett impressed in the half-back line, winning 50/50 battles and releasing quick hand passes to players on the run, to clear danger. Jack Friel’s intelligent runs into space and sharp deliveries from the half-forward line consistently set up scoring opportunities.
